  • 2 quarts water (2 liters)
  • to taste salt

Meat Sauce

  • 1 lb. ground pork (450 g)
  • 3 pieces hotdogs, sliced
  • 1 piece Knorr Pork Cube
  • 1 piece onion, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2 g)
  • 29 ounces tomato sauce (850 g)
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste (optional) (15 g)
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (45 g)
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil (30 ml)
  • to taste ground black pepper

Topping

  • 1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded (120 g)

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a cooking pot, bring 2 quarts (2 liters) of water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt.
  • Add 1 lb. (450 g) of spaghetti into the pot and cook for 9 minutes or until al dente. Once done, drain and set aside.

Cooking the Meat Sauce

  • In another cooking pot, heat 2 tablespoons (30 ml) of cooking oil over medium heat. Add 1 lb. (450 g) of ground pork and sear until it turns light brown.
  • Mix in the minced onion and 1/2 teaspoon (2 g) of garlic powder. Stir and cook for 3 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
  • Pour in 29 ounces (850 g) of tomato sauce and bring to a boil. Add 1 piece of Knorr Pork Cube and stir well.
  • Stir in the sliced hotdogs. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 30 minutes, adding water as needed to keep the sauce from drying out.
  • If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon (15 g) of tomato paste for added thickness and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
  • Season the sauce with 3 tablespoons (45 g) of sugar, salt, and ground black pepper to taste, and cook for an additional minute.

Serving

  • On a plate, arrange the cooked spaghetti. Top generously with the meat sauce, and sprinkle 1/2 cup (120 g) of shredded sharp cheddar cheese on top. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For serving, garnish the dish with freshly shredded cheese. This dish pairs well with a side salad and garlic bread. Consider adding crushed red pepper flakes or hot sauce for added heat. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator and reheated easily.
